How NGOs raise funds on the SSE
Non-profits registered on the Social Stock Exchange raise money mainly through Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) instruments — a listed, donation-based security. Funders receive no interest and no return of principal; their return is verified social impact.
What a ZCZP is
The full subscription amount funds your project — no coupon, no repayment. It is listed and tracked on the SSE.
Who can fund it
Retail donors, philanthropic foundations, and — since the May 2026 MCA amendment — companies routing up to 10% of their CSR spend.
What you commit to
A defined project term, periodic disclosures, and an annual impact report on fund utilisation and outcomes.
SEBI has progressively lowered the minimum issue and subscription sizes for ZCZP instruments to widen participation. Confirm current thresholds with your advisor before issuing.
